Temperature reading from a mine fire steam vent in the burn zone.

Daniel and I made it to Centralia today, and we took a temperature reading at one of the vents that comes up from the coal-mine fire and we got 121 degrees. At another vent the reading was 126 degrees. The outside air today was about 33 degrees. And just in case you’ve never heard of Centralia, it’s the place they based Silent Hill on. The church from Silent Hill? Yeah, definitely drove by that today. Mad creepy and cool to find random pockets of steam where an underground fire is venting. One vent had crazy green moss growing around it IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER and when you put your hand over the vent it was like putting your hand in front of a warm, blowing fan.
